Where Do we usually hold our events?
We hold our events at several fields. We are going to try out a new field in Chelsea, somewhat near the old one in Manchester. We also sometimes go on a road trip and play all the way out in upstate New York.
September 21st , 2013 Event
This was our first battle held on a field other than Mr. Martins. The weather was perfect at 65 degrees and cloudy. Perfect temperature for the uniforms we all wear. The field itself was great. The weeds were tall enough to provide full cover. The forest area worked out well for the battles too. For our first battle we did a Team deathmatch. I got my first kill of the day taking out an airborne troop as he was coming out of the weeds. We called that game while we still had two Americans and five Germans left. For the second battle the Axis had to attack an American position located in the middle of the field. The allies were quickly surrounded and taken out.
For the third battle the allies got to defend again. This time they had to defend the roads going through the woods. They set up blockades for cover. There were only two paths to the American's defenses as the wooded area was mined.
Eventually the Germans were able to break through despite the Allies best attempts.
The Last battle the Germans defended the wooded area like the Allies had previously. We set unlimited respawns with a time limit of 1 hour. Whoever was controlling the defenses at the end won. The Americans won but the Germans claimed they had been told the battle was over thus abandoning the defenses. This allowed the Allies to take it with little trouble.
Either way it was a fun time. We had a decent turn out with 19 people and 3 new players. We'll definitely be using this field again. We implemented a new spawning rule to keep squads together so we didn't have so many people lone wolfing it. The rule was you couldn't respawn unless there were 4 others guys with you. Since we were doing squads of 4 this kept everyone together. Hope to see everyone there next time and hopefully some new faces. Thanks for coming out everyone! Thanks to my uncle for providing loaner gear to a lot of people! Thanks to the Cherneys for hosting the events! God Bless America.

This was my second event, and it was really a stretch to get there. I really want to thank my dad for driving Matt and I. I would also like to thank Jerry-ADK for giving us a place to sleep and assemble, and John (2nd Bat) for the gear and tactical advice.
The first game was a German offensive, with the Americans supposed to hold them from the river. This we failed to do, though we caused extremely high casualties among the Germans that were trying to dislodge us from our firebase. I got the final American kills of the game by getting two Germans with a grenade. Unfortunately, as I was taking cover, I was hit in the face by a Kraut potato masher grenade.
The second game was an opposing patrol scenario, with both sides trying to make contact and eliminate the other side. I got several kills with my M1. In the first game the batteries kept dying, so I had to revert to a CYMA M1 carbine springer. That was basically the first day.
The second day was another German offensive to start off. I got several kills and we fought bravely, but the Germans took our respawn.
The second game was another opposing patrol game, and this was hard-fought. Patrick got every kill I believe, and I did not fire a single shot. The Americans won.
The third game (the last unfortunately) was an American offensive, with unlimited American respawns. I got a couple kills this game, and the Germans gave us some smoke grenades to use. We captured our objective with one minute to spare. This was my favorite game. Everyone fought hard, and lots of tactics were employed. Nobody went Rambo, we used leapfrogs and fire and maneuver.
We had a pretty good turnout, and with everyone using semi-auto it really added to the atmosphere. Kudos to Nate for organizing such a great event.

July 26th, 2014- Operation Overlord
So Friday afternoon, Shifty and I arrived at the field and no one else was there yet. That being said, we were slightly confused as to where we should set up. We ran into Nate on the way to the airstrip and he told us that we had already passed the American camp and when I heard that there were going to be two camps, my first thought was, “No Bratwursts for me...”. Sadly I missed out on that particular meal, but the Mandarin Oranges sufficed for that night. The Americans played a bit of cards and exchanged a few stories waiting for Dracul and his wife to show up. I was sound asleep by the time they showed up, so I was introduced at about 4:30 in the morning.
We decided to go ahead with the drop, even though the Germans were not very heavy in numbers, so at 0500, we were all geared up and ready to go. We climbed into Nate's jeep four at a time and jumped out. The jumped weren't very separate and we ended up being able to see each other with the jeep's breaklights. No trouble though, and we formed up and moved out. Nate and his friends put together cool defenses and objectives, including trenches and a small gun battery representing the Brecourt Guns. Our objective was to defend the guns for 30 minutes then fall back to a crossroads and defend that for another 30 minutes. I got a kill from a slightly concealed position but the main problem was that the Americans weren't familiar with the German language and didn't understand that he was already dead and kept shooting him. We then switched positions as we deemed it a bit unfair for the Americans who outnumbered the Germans about three to one and that ended up with no clear winner since we were all a bit sleepy and getting eaten alive by mosquitoes!
After that we returned to the American base and had a nice breakfast of eggs, sausage, coffee and muffins. More people showed up during the morning and we ended up having just about 25 or so people playing. Somewhere around noon we geared up again and headed out for another game. The American were again tasked with taking the guns and we separated into three different companies. I ended up in C Company and we were tasked with taking the middle while A took the left and B took the right. The Germans set up an impenatrable defense and got A and B company pinned. Wallick and I poured lots of BB's on them from a nice concealed position in the treeline. So much so that even in their pit, we heard someone yell, “Where the he11 is that fire coming from!”. That battle ended in the defeat of American forces.
We headed back to our respawn and called over the radio to the Germans and discussed the next game. The American were now on route to take a crossroads. This was possibly the best game of the entire event! We were on route to the German position and an MG42 opened up on our squad. I was hit by a stray BB in the shoulder and was calling for a Medic for about a minute. Schwerpunkt answered my calling and sprinted over to my position. While he was bandaging me he kept talking to me like a medic really would and it made me want to play along even more. It also made the experience that much more emerssive! I was able to return to the battle and fell in with Shifty and Brownien. We were all hiding in a foxhole by a road. The road was being covered either by an MG42 or another automatic weapon. There was a break in the fire and we cover Brown as he runs across the road. We covered each other as we all ran across this tiny little road and made for a treeline. The MG saw us cross and started firing through the treeline toward us. Right there is where I felt like I was really in France fighting the Germans. I looked to my right and saw Brown throw a smoke into the trees and we took cover behind a long mound. Someone else came through and saved us from the MG and we advanced into a foxhole and tried to push forward, the attempt failed and time ran out, so the Americans lost once more.
We were all pretty worn out after this battle so we took about a two hour break and then had the last battle of the event. The objective for the Americans was to hold a bridge against the German advance. I took up a position across the bridge in a small foxhole. We also set up a Tommy gun that had a great position to fire on anyone crossing the bridge. I kept some people on the left occupied for about 10 minutes until they actually found out I was there and got a grenade in my foxhole! Not much else happened for the rest of the battle and the Americans defended the bridge for the remaining time.
Everyone had a lot of fun and we all popped over to the German camp and had a lengthy conversation about the advancment for the hobby. Some good ideas were thrown around and I hope to see some of them come to fruition. Shifty, Dracul, Wallick and I were all the people left at the field after about 8. We felt some raindrops and decided to get out before it started pouring (which was a good idea) and crashed at Nate's for the night. Shifty and I had to leave at 9 but I was still able to get some muffins (Those were the BEST muffins I've ever had) and we headed back on our 10 hour journey back to Michigan!

January 17-18, 2015 Battle of the Bulge II
I'd like to put a big huge thank you out to Migs for making this event happen despite all the set backs. The situation was tough and difficult for anyone to endure. I'm very glad that your boys were ok. And thank you Migs for taking care of the field fee's for Sunday so we could play. And thanks to Brownien for the loner gear and guns you left, we used what we could.
For Sunday temperatures were better at about 20 degrees and every one got to the field by 9:30. There was 8 of us able to make it, 4 Germans, and 4 Americans so at least we had even teams. But getting our guns to work was a big issue. My AGM MP40 was having feeding issues and was only working very erratically. LSSAH's almost new SHoei STG 44 was down as well (that was a big bummer cause he was dying to shoot it, as you can imagine). both the other AEG STG 44's were down as well for one reason or another. We made ample use of the CYMA spriger carbines that Dracul had and a springer trench gun and my springer BAR98. Pretty much springers were the only reliable weapon except for Dracul's King Arms Thomson, which was still working fine.
Once everyone had a working weapon we moved out to our positions around 10:30. The Germans occupied the far end of the field, near the snack shack and the Allies started out near the bridge. Both teams moved out to patrol the front line and made contact near the Black building in the middle of the AO. The Germans moved up and took the building and tried to hold that position. The Allies out flanked the position and killed 2 German soldiers. The Allies then moved in to occupy the black fort and sent out scout patrol to search for more enemy. A scout soon made contact with the Germans and was KIA. The Germans soon attacked the Allied position with renewed strength but were beaten back by fierce Allied resistance. The Germans left the vicinity and fell back to their OP while the Allies regrouped and made another push toward the German positions. A intense gun battle ensued around the bunker the Germans were operating from. Which resulted in massive casualties for both sides. Unfortunately Scottcollins took a direct hit in the front tooth and lost about half of it. At that point a truce was called for lunch and the casualties were removed from the battlefield. PFC Scottcollins will be rewarded the Purple Heart for his sacrifice in the line of duty.
The second half the day we started with another opposing patrol scenario. The Allies found the Black Fort empty and took it with ease. The Allies sent out a scout to find the enemy but was assumed KIA when he failed to return. The Allied sentries in the fort took heavy casualties from a SS sniper team and ultimately lost the fort to the Germans.
The last scenario of the day was a blast, and it made all the suffering from the cold and frustration of non working guns worth it. Both teams started at opposite ends of the field and raced to occupy the bunker position in the center of the field. The first team to capture and hold the position for 10 min would win the battle. Both teams arrived at the objective simultaneously but the Allies were all eliminated to the last man as they tried to get in the objective. The German team moved in and the timer started as a intense fire fight began. The Germans were almost able to hold it for the time limit but the Allies moved in as soon as the Germans MG gunner was reloading. All the Germans inside the bunker were killed and the Allies took control of the objective. the ensuing German counter attack was strong but not strong enough to toss the Allies back out. In a last ditch effort the Germans tried to rush the bunker in a full frontal assault but were were quickly cut down by a GI rifle squad. The Allies won the battle as they were able to defend and hold the position for the duration of the time limit.
Both sides fought bravely and with honor. Despite the extreme cold temps, low turnout and malfunctioning guns all who attended seemed to have a great time. I hope that everyone had a safe drive home, because Mother Nature was not done with us yet, and had more in store for us on our long journeys. Driving north I encountered extremely treacherous black ice conditions on the Northway and had to drive below 40mph almost the whole way home. I passed several accidents and spent a good amount of the trip praying that I would make it back safely. Its just crazy that within a 24 hour period it went from single digits to full on rain. It was a bad combination because as the rain hit the freezing road ice formed. Driving was very dicey but thankfully I'm still alive.

September 27, 2015 Event
-JThis was the first event in over a year in Michigan, and thanks to it, things look promising. We had decent attendance, and a good time was had by all.
At 1300 hrs, myself and Private Northrop (my brother), a replacement, returned to the MLR. After giving the new guy some tips and tricks that helped us stay alive in Normandy and Bastogne (and giving him, the smallest guy in the squad, the BAR), our squad, with some leg infantry dogfaces headed out on a patrol to determine enemy strength and to initiate contact if possible. No contact was made until after we had completely infiltrated through the enemy's MLR. At this point, the Airborne and leg infantry parted ways, the infantry going on the left and us on the right in an attempt at a pincer. I spotted an SS smock in the bushes, aimed, and fired 2 shots, killing him. The situation was fluid and confused at this point. We deduced that we had the Germans in a pocket with us on one side and the infantry on the other. We decided to flank around behind and destroy the pocket. We instructed the BAR man to lay covering fire, and PFC Scott and I began our flanking maneuver. I spotted a Feldgrau uniform in a clearing, then saw him raise his weapon. Pvt Northrop, our BAR man was hit, but I did not know at this time. I aimed and squeezed off 2 more shots, hitting him in the back. Shortly after that, due to our collective efforts the pocket collapsed and combat ceased.
We were next tasked to hold a position against a possible enemy counterattack. The attack came soon enough, and the position held. The situation was very confused, and it is impossible to know accurately what happened comprehensively. I was grazed in the back while defending the position from an unknown spot, and we suffered numerous other casualties. But once again, the GIs held the position and carried the day.
The third objective of the day was to seize intel in a fort that the enemy had direct LOS on. An infantry submachine gunner and I went on a wide flanking run where we found 2 Germans in a clearing. Unsure of their status, we observed them until they unslung their weapons and headed toward the sounds of battle. At that point, we lit them up with no loss to ourselves. Pvt. Northrop was hit early on, but the intel was seized rapidly and numerous German casualties were inflicted.
The fourth objective for our hard-fighting troops was to destroy all enemy forces in the area once and for all. We decided to hit them on the flank, as we had found success doing that earlier. I was taking point, and as I rounded a corner, a German I had not seen shot me in the nose. The action for the day ended for me there, but news trickled back to the aid station that the objective was achieved and a live prisoner was taken.
I was thrilled to be able, at long last, to use my Marushin M1 Garand in combat. It performed well, and I notched up 4 kills with it.

October 11th, 2015 Battle
Our second consecutive monthly battle, this battle also saw decent attendance, some returners but some fresh faces as well. This battle was mixed with WWII and modern players, which was disastrous for us WWII guys when someone decided we should do a WWII v Modern game. Unlike the September battle, the Germans dominated this one, not least because they had the modern players on their team for the majority of the day (an HPA gun rips through a squad wedge very fast.) We had one additional recruit, Brendan, who had a good time and hopes to return. I overall had a good day and am glad we got a new recruit into the WWII airsoft scene and added to our unit's bayonet strength.

November 15th, 2015 Battle
This was our third monthly battle, and again had OK attendance. PFC Scott traitorously played as a German, which I believe he enjoyed. There were again modern players at the field, which usually turned our objectives into one of assassination (Take out the LMG!) I had an opportunity to try out an ICS Garand, and it is a VERY nice rifle (thanks Dane!) Unfortunately, the gearbox locked up at the end of the day, (my fault,) but while it worked it shot straight and hard and fed flawlessly. After the combat phase of the day (in which we were mown down in droves by guys with HPA guns,) we also took some photos and recorded some footage for a promo video, which can be viewed below.

February 21st, 2016
This event was a huge success. We had all WWII players in considerable numbers. The Allied forces outnumbered the Germans by a wide margin (9 Americans, 1 Polish, 1 FFI, and 1 Brit against 9 Germans.) This enabled us to carry the day, or most of it at least. Weapons failures happened too often and were frustrating, but everyone had a weapon to use. I used Matt's M1903 and got two unconfirmed kills with it. Towards the end of the day, German resistance stiffened and our offensive ground to a halt. However, this game was much better at keeping the game flow fluid and moving. There was not as much socializing and standing around. This game, overall, taught us several lessons that can be applied to later games, and gave us a lot of fun while learning them.
March 26th, 2016
This was our first event at the new field in Chelsea, and I think it is a vast improvement over Phoenix. We had good attendance with 15 people, including some fresh faces, especially among the Germans. We filmed a new promo, and I think that this one is the best so far. We put together a Pak38, but for now it is just a prop. We plan on having the next game on April 30th. By then, we hope the Pak will be a potato gun. Not to shoot at people, of course. We have permission to build and are currently raising money for a destroyed farmhouse.

June 25th, 2016
This was our first 2-day event, and despite the staggering heat, fun was had by all. This was also our first experience with night games in Michigan, which provided an interesting challenge, especially with tinted glasses (facepalm.) There was some confusion regarding the rules at times, but I had a good time and would like to try another 2 day game in the future.
July 31st, 2016
I only attended half of this event due to a scheduling conflict, but I had a great time. My new AEG Garand unfortunately gave me some problems, but with an ICS one I notched up a couple more kills. It was quite hot, but not as bad as the June game. I had a great time, and I can't wait for the next event.
January 20th, 2018
2017 was an awesome year, but I didn't get out to as much Airborne Airsoft as I would have liked. My personal ICS Garand went down with electrical problems several months ago, so I was saddled with my sketchy custom build which continued to give me problems. I ended up using my KWC M1911 pistol more than my Garand, and I did notch up a kill with it, which is always fun. Later in the day, I was able to borrow an ICS Garand, and my day took a complete 180. It became so much fun to get hits at 200 ft with the first or second shot and have a BB come out every time I pulled the trigger instead of having to flip a coin on whether or not my weapon would be of use. I can't wait to have my own ICS rifle back so I can really go to work.
February 24th, 2018
Wow, sorry to have not kept the AARs coming! This group is still very active, I asssure you. This was the second event of 2018, and it was so nice to have my own ICS Garand back working. I notched up numerous kills with it without issues, a pleasant surprise considering all the problems I've been having with my 2nd Bat style M1.My little brother also has M43s now as well, meaning that we looked somewhat uniform (and marginally less farby) than at previous events. Why he didn't wear his M43 pants I have no idea though...
